I was originally looking for any information snowmobiles and snowmobile collisions. Alas, there is no such "Topic." So, if anyone here has any pertinent information I could use, I would appreciate it. I am investigating a 2 snowmobile offset head-on crash involving a blind rise. Please give me some input. Thanks

Daniel W. Vomhof III presented a paper at the CRASH'98 conference on the origin of the CRUSH FACTOR (CF) values published in the Expert AutoStats program for use in the 30df (slide to stop or speed from skid) formulae to estimate speed from crush damage. Additionally, comparisons of the various methods of calculating speed from crush damage were compared for the tests in the NHTSA Crash Trest database on the 1989-1996 Ford Thunderbird. The paper and exhibits pertaining to the data analysis are attached. The vehicle data sheets are not. This paper is posted for the purpose of educating the Accident Investigation/Reconstruction community. Limited reproduction is permitted with proper acknowledgements.
